October 16, 2018: Article 1, a charitable organization that fights social inequalities, hosted an event in Lyon focusing on the role of “Responsible Businesses” in society.

Fanny Tresallet, Amaris RCEO for the Asia Pacific region, reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to a fairer society and described the concrete actions put in place towards this goal:

- The Amaris Foundation: thanks to the active involvement of over 3,000 Amaris employees who became Foundation members, the Foundation supports around twenty charities and initiatives across the world.

- The Amaris Managerial Innovation Chair: building a new business management model together with tomorrow’s managers – in partnership with the EM Lyon Business School.

- The UN Global Compact initiative: Amaris joined the UN’s Global Compact initiative and commits therefore to implementing universal sustainability principles, including human rights, labor rights and environmental protection.

Fanny also explained why it is advantageous for businesses to increase their commitment to social responsibility.  Nowadays, employees, potential candidates, partners and clients all expect businesses to have a positive impact.

The Group has been working with Article 1 since September 2017. A dozen Amaris employees are involved in outreach programs for disadvantaged secondary school pupils in the Lyon area. Some of them, like Amaris consultant Matthieu Greco, lead workshops in inner city schools. Matthieu also spoke at the event to share his experience and present his workshop “University – it can be for you”, which aims to motivate pupils to pursue their studies.
