Lyon makes its entry into the top 10 of the overall ranking in the 9th rank. Encouraging entrepreneurship is a clear priority of the city to assure Lyon’s economic development. Large scale operations such as “Lyon, city of enterprise”, “Lyon region - spirit of enterprise” or the poster campaign promoting the territorial brand “Only Lyon”: they all contributed to this result.

The study reveals that four French cities obtained good scores in the 2010 edition. So, Lilles takes the 11th rank in the general ranking, and Marseille and Paris respectively the 16th and 23rd rank.
